Folks,
I have been working on a short history of the Cross Crusade to put on the website. Rick and Russ have many details, but I can never get an exact year for start. Rick always threatens to dig out that first flyer from his archive, but at this point, I figure it would be easier to ask the email list.
Before the Crusade, the Portland area series was put on by a guy named Jeff Haas. Jeff handed it off to Rick Potestio and Russ Humberston who continue to be involved today.
I first did some Cyclo-Cross races in 1989. I believe one took place in Gabriel Park in SW Portland and I believe the other took place in some sort of swamp near Scholls.
So, does anyone know what year was the 1st for the Crusade?
Does anyone remember how long Jeff Haas put on cross races and what venues he used?
