Hell O' the Cascades . . .

is really coming!  Details and permits are set and the race is a go!  If you've ever wanted to race all the way around Mt. Hood, here's your chance.  It's an epic ride, with sweeping vistas, thousand of feet of climbing, a gravel descent, a fast final run-in, and 500meter long big ring climb to the finish line.  It's like the old Saturn Classic, only about 50 miles shorter.

The flyer should be posted soon and I'm working on a course map and profile.  If you want to check it out yourself, here's the course:
1.  Start at the Hood River County Fairgrounds in Odell, OR.
2.  Ride south on Hwy 35 all of the way to the Hwy 26 interchange.
3.  West on Hwy 26 to Zigzag, then up Lolo Pass Road to the top of Lolo Pass
4.  Down Forest Road 1828 (this is where you find the gravel).  There are two roads heading North off of Lolo Pass.  We are going down the one on the right.  The one on the left is scary.
5.  Road 1828 becomes Road 18.  Follow it to the intersection with Lost Lake Road.  Turn right.
6.  Take Lost Lake Road all of the way down into Dee and turn left onto the Dee Hwy.
7.  From there, its about four miles on the Hwy until you take a right onto Summit Drive and the finish is right at the top.  The fairgrounds are less than a mile downhill from the finish line.

I hope to see you out in Hood River on July 20th.  Email me with your questions.

Thanks,
Jeff
