I tried a couple of time before and this wheelset is currently also up on Craigslist. Two buyers have fallen throug for one reason or another, but I will try one more time before I toss these up on Ebay.
The wheelset is an almost new American Classic Carbon 58 wheelset. The carbon rims, as it was pointed out to me by one nice fellow are made by Zipp. They are the same rim as is on the Zipp 404, just without the dimples. The hubs are super light too. The entire wheelset weight right around 1200 grams without the tires.
But this wheelset comes with the very fast rolling Tufo S3 Lite tires. These tires have the tufo sealant already installed last month right before my half Ironman. So you can race worry free. The wheelset also comes with an Ultegra 10 speed 12-25 cassette.
And I will through in some wheelbags.
Retail on the wheelset: $1495
Retail on the tires: about $80 to $90 each
Retail on the cassette: about $80 to $90.
Total value of the set up: $1,735 to 1,765.
Price after I used these in only two races for less than 100 miles: $850
$850 seems like more than a fair price. In fact I got two emails last time saying I was selling too cheap. That may still be the case, but I just bought my wife a new bike and these wheels were supposed to help pay for it. And so I am a little behind the 8-ball. Sorry for the long windedness, I just want these out of my garage.
