Four North Portland bike/ped projects are among the final 10 on the Bureau
of Environmental Services CBO project funding list. Improvements to the
Going Street sidewalk to Swan Island, the Bluff Trail below the U of P., the
River/Lagoon Trail link and Basin Avenue improvements (both on Swan Island)
are among the ten projects up for community review at next week's open
house. See the annoucement below for details; I urge you to attend and
express your support for these opportunities to make Swan Island a better
place to work and an easier place for North & Northeast Portlanders to get
to for jobs and recreation!!! There is a potential for $1 Million worth of
investments that will better link Swan Island with adjacent residential
neighborhoods!

Community Benefit Opportunities in Your Neighborhood
The City makes every effort to minimize community impacts during CSO
construction. The Community Benefits Opportunity Program funds projects that
enhance neighborhood livability, protect the environment, or solve problems
in areas affected by the CSO program. Over the past year, more than 90 such
projects were nominated, and a citizen panel is currently evaluating them.
The committee will make a final selection to the City Council later this
year. You are invited to our Second Open House to see the CBO projects
being considered for your area.
Tuesday November 27, 2001 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Tabernacle Seven-Day Adventist
Church 026 SW Condor Way
Please call Dawn Uchiyama with any questions and your RSVP for attendance.
