Three down, three to go! Here are some quick updates ahead of tonight's 4th evening of Short Track racing at PIR...
1) Ultra Short Track Exhibition Race - TONIGHT 7:30PM
To spice up the action (like we have to?), we have decided to throw in a free exhibition race for mini-bikes, tall-bikes, unicycles and assorted freak bikes. This 5-10' long, "just for fun" race will be held at 7:30pm, right after the Sport Men race and before the Pro/Expert race. Participation is free, but all riders have to sign in at registration, sign a waiver, and wear a helmet. And nope, carbon road bikes don't qualify as freak bikes.
2) Race video and photos!
Check out Scott Barker's latest video race report at www.portlandracing.com. This guy is quite the pro videographer talent, besides being a kick-ass singlespeed short track racer! There are also a ton of great new photos of last week's races posted at the following two sites:

2) Queen of the Night (for race 2 & 3)
Since we skipped our Queen of the Night raffle last week, we have two lucky women racers, who will walk home tonight with a $75 gift certificate, courtesy of our special women's sponsor Bike N Hike. The lucky winners (randomly drawn among all our women racers) are: Kristin Wille and Patty Garland. Each week another woman racer will get a chance to win our Queen of the Night trophy, so keep coming back girls!
3) More weekly prizes!
Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors Ironclad and Clif Bar, we are throwing some extra goodies your way. Short track racers Chris Augustus and Jim Reinhart each win a pair of Ironclad Mach 5 Impact gloves, while racers Chris Tauscher and Tricia Swanson win a cool Clif Bar race hat and a personal supply of Clig Bloks. Just drop by our registration desk tonight to pick up your prizes.
4) Results and Series Points
Final results of race #3 have been posted on our web site. We also added the series points for the first three races, so get out your pocket calculators to figure out where you stand and how hard you have to go tonight to beat those guys or girls just ahead of you.
That's it. Hope to see you tonight for another fun evening of short track racing!
Cheers!
~Kris
