Besides,  if we trimmed it , how would you ever see the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of every email ?

Seems to me as an advantage to have all of the other replies in there so you
can follow the whole thing on one email.
I do not know how that digest mode works, but maybe that feature should be
modified for it to work better for you.

"Me too.  It is ridiculous."

Isn't this the type of reply/post you are calling ridiculous?

I'm much more bothered by people who don't put "FS" or "for sale" in the
subject line when they're trying to sell something.
(Mail filters are a wonderful tool for sorting out things I'm not
interested in - but they only work when other people cooperate.)

I'll second that.  Don't feel picked on though, I see the same thing in every e-list I subscribe to.

Hey, how's 'bout paring off your replies when posting to the list? As a
Digest Mode subscriber, we sometimes scroll down to the message number of
the post that interests us to read only that post, then delete the entire
digest. But when you don't trim your posts before hitting send, the Digest
will also include all the messages on the day you're replying to...so it
becomes quite tedious to scroll through multiple digests to find the message
# for the proper message you are interested in, rather than the same
message number from a previous digest that has been included in some reply
in which you may or may not be interested..In long threads, we sometimes see
the same complete digest many many times and yet the latest post may really
only contain a "Yes or No.." answer.
Thanks
