I am very new to MTB riding and even newer to racing... I have raced the
last three Monday's at PIR... since PIR is coming to an end here shortly I
am looking for other races to enter at the Novice/Beginner level. I have
looked over the OBRA calendar and other than the few on there does anyone
know of any other races to enter in the future? Preferably races somewhat
close to the Portland area? I want to keep my momentum going here...

Thank you for any information! Thanks!

Sincerely,

Don Mathews

So, in the second to last corner of the pro crit, late in the race, a Rock
Racing guy crashed out and was hauled off in an ambulance. I thought it was
Botero, but apparently it wasn't.

Who was it and what happened?

Hey all,

Anyone have a set of Shimano XT QR skewers that they'd like to sell?
100mm front and 135mm rear. I'd also like to get a set for my Cross
bike. 130mm rear.

So if you've replaced all your Shimano QRs with lighter/cooler ones
and like to make a few bucks, let me know!

I'm also looking for some used Eggbeater SLs.

Annnnd... I'd like to replace the Shimano aero levers on my road bike
with some Cane Creek SCR-5 levers. (I have a set on my MTB and rather
like them.) Silver or black is fine.

Drop me a line if you've got this stuff kicking around your parts box!

Thanks,
Brian J.

just left it on the registration table or something like that. If anyone

Was thinking of riding Ape Canyon/Plains of Abraham tomorrow. However, think
I may be jumping the gun a little bit with the snow we had this winter.
Anybody been up that way and have a report? (I know about the road closure
from Marble Mt. Sno-Park to the Ape Canyon parking area.) How about the
Coldwater Trail in the Mt Margaret area above Johnston Ridge Observatory?
Failing those two spots anything that is in killer condition right now?
Thanks for any info!

Hi All-
I work for the tourism board of Portland and we are interested in
giving away a bike at an upcoming trade show. A commuter bike would
be ideal, and because of the timeline, a hand-crafted bike is not
practical.

Therefore, outside of Vanilla, Ahearne and Veloforma, are there any
bike manufacturers in the Portland metro area...or with Portland
connections...that I'm overlooking? Being based in Eugene, Bike
Friday, alas, will probably not work.

Thanks in advance.
