BICYCLISTS: KNOW YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS!
WHAT: A FREE Vehicle Law Class by
Bicycle Advocate Ray Thomas
WHEN: AUGUST 5, 2008
6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: REI -- Bend Old Mill District, 380 Powerhouse Dr., Bend, Oregon
HOW: Call Ryan Levering @ 541-385-0954 to sign up
These clinics instruct riders about Oregons vehicle law from a
bicyclists
perspective. What is a bicyclist's right to a fair share of the road?
Single file or side by side? Learn about the law, how to be your own
advocate and how to use the court system to avoid conflicts on the
street. Use this overview of traffic and insurance laws to better
understand your rights and responsibilities on the road.
Many minor accidents with automobiles result in little or no injury
for the
bicyclist, but because of ignorance of their legal rights, bicyclists
fail to
properly make insurance claims. Learn the basics of insurance
coverage and how to get property damage and medical bills paid in a
timely manner.
please let Ryan Levering (385-0594) at REI know ahead of time if you
plan on attending, so they know approx. many people to expect.
