The biggest payout in Oregon Cycling history will be immediately following
this Sunday's final Cross Crusade race in Eugene. Such a big payout, in
fact, that you need not win to win: all you need to do to claim some of the
over $15,000 in cash and booty is to make an appearance at the awards
ceremony....
As luck would have it, River City Bicycles and our sponsors have outdone
themselves and we have simply too many prizes for the series. So, besides
the $10,000 in cash and prizes allocated to the top finishers as promised on
the race flyer, we have over $5,000 in schwag for the masses who just show
up at the awards ceremony and place their race number in the "basket."
Some items of note that will be RAFFLED off to anyone (any registered racer)
in the wine cellar include:
At least one Cyclo-cross Frame, courtesy of Gunnar, Lemond, Cannondale or
KHS
Up to Five Festina Watches
Mavic Reflex Rims
Timbuk 2 Bag
Bike Computer
Assorted Cross Tires
Road Tires
Travel Coupons
Wine
Beer
as well as Beer Mugs, Coffee Mugs, Locks, Pumps, Bags, Hats, Socks and so
much more! Everything Must Go!!! or we'll need Candi to buy another OBRA
truck for the trip home....
Items of note that are going to top finishers include:
$5,000 cash - Cat A Men and Women only
Complete Bianchi Cross Bike
Frames from Gunnar, Lemond, Cannondale and KHS
Hundreds of dollars in travel coupons
An exquisite assortment of rims, tires, computers, components, clothing and
accessories.
Wine
Beer
And most significantly, the world's best medals and trophy, all individually
hand-crafted.
Additionally, there will be a separate prize list for this race that
includes $1,000 in cash and prizes, as well as Magnum sized bottles of King
Estate Vino, and of course the medals for the District Championship.
You will not experience such an awards ceremony as this again. At least not
for another twelve months....
See you in Eugene,
The Cross Crusade
