Zippers replaced are better than new.

alteration station on NE broadway. he does hidden zippers, he's quick, and absolutely "no non-sense". you'll see what i mean if you use him. i've had him alter blazer jerseys too. all quality work.

I've gotten bike clothes repair at Mountain Soles (http://www.mtnsoles.com/)
including zipper replacement. However, they can't repair or replace hidden
zippers which are common on bike jerseys.

I highly recommend Nicole Adamson (her biz is "Chicken Scraps: A Sewing
Company"). She's altered skinsuits for me and repaired zippers -- all
top-notch work. She's located close to downtown Portland. Her husband, James
Adamson, is a bike messenger and races with the Gentle Lovers. Nicole can
be reached at 503-891-1364.

Since someone recently posted about needing their spandex repaired, has anyone had good luck with some replacing zippers on jerseys and jackets? I have a pile of jerseys that has grown quite large because of busted zipper tags.

For the funny people in the group: No, I have not breaking zippers because of my clydesdale sized gut. Apparently I am over-torquing the zipper when I close it...

Thanks in advance.

I've been able to cheaply repair many warn-out zippers with this:

http://www.zipperrescue.com/kits.asp

I found one at a sewing supply store, but REI caries them as well.
