I would like to express my appreciation to Peter Kakes, Paul Thomasberg, and

whom ever else was involved in putting on the Bear Springs race. It was a

great race and an excellent course. Let's do it again next year. I too was

one of the unfortunate riders to get off course. My belief is that this was

due to a course Marshall who was taken by surprise and was not prepared for

the Sport riders when they came through (I think I heard him yelling from

the woods as we went screaming by at 25 mph). He did direct us to the

correct turn when we climbed back to the top of the hill. My feeling is

that "@#$% happens" and we only went approx. 2 extra miles (according to my

computer).



Better to have raced and gotten a little off course than to not have raced

at all.
