Security at PIR races

Unfortunately, I also suffered a break-in near PIR on Tuesday. Heads up out
there.

My 2006 Fuji Team RC was stolen from my truck at the Delta Park park-n-ride
during the day on August 11. Size 56 carbon frame, 10 speed Dura Ace, Lew
Palermo carbon tubulars (front rebuilt with Reynolds Stratus rim). Also
taken were a pair of hand-built wheels by Mike Garcia with DT Swiss rims, my
bike tools and a pair of prescription sunglasses.

Please let me know if you see any of this stuff riding around.

Good eyes John. Racers- don't be afraid to say something if you see
something suspicious. Tell Jim and or Jeff and don't be hesitant to
write down info just like John did.

I thnk the plate # was 384 CPB or 364 CPB. Oregon plates, they seemd to be scouting out the place, definitely not racers. Hope this helps.

I think the same people hit the short track finale (monday night as well, 2
weeks ago); a team mate's truck was broken into and a large bag was stolen.
Sounds like the same vandal--popped the lock with a tool of some kind and
just took what was in plain view.

We had unfortunate car break in tonight to a racers car. Major bummer! Nice
wheels stolen and wallet.

Just keep heads up at PIR. Not many people know we are back in there but
some cars just cruise through (gate is open), so if you see something weird
call police or let officials or me at registration.

We will have a bucket for keys if you want to drop them off next race(s) so
you can lock your car and not have to race with the keys! See me at
registration!

Wheels stolen were:
Chris King hubs, laced with CXPSS Rims. SRAM Red 11x26
Contact: Erik Spillman - 907-738-3930

PIR is usually a nice quiet place on Monday and Tuesday nights and most
people don't even know we are back on the track...but...PIR and Delta Park
area has been targeted as a prime spot the last few weeks. Other events
(soccer, car races, etc) have had break ins and stolen cars. So someone
(hopefully will be caught soon) knows there are a lot of events in the area.

You can leave your car keys with us at registration and we will keep inside
the truck while you are racing. You will have to identify them when you pick
them up though. Just remember officials might be busy while you are trying
to get your keys, so you may have to wait a minute.

I have confidence that the police will monitor this and take care of these
thieves over the next couple weeks.

Thanks, let me know if you have any questions. If you see something weird
let me or the officials know right away too!

Jim
