That would be a great place for a race... good trail (not to technical) with
some good spots for passing... so where do I sign up?

Hey all in bicycle land. I have an idea for a race and wanted some input. I took a ride out to Henry Hagg Lake today on the old cross rig and hit some of the singletrack tucked into the woods there. It was my first time going back there but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the trails. PSU is trying to host a mountain bike race next year with the goal of it being a shared OBRA, and USAC collegiate event. It is possible to work out the logistics of that, but I was wondering what you all think. I have seen the attendance problems that mountain biking has been having this year and also see this as a good way to satisfy some of the reasons people have for not showing up. 1) The course is way closer to Portland than the other races. 2) The course is tight and only semi-technical, so those who say they did not like how epic and technical the courses were have a race to give them their rock -free jollys. 3) The Banana belt races were there, the collegiate RR hosted by PSU
, and a Du/Triatholon. So the park is no stranger to a bicycle or many of them, dare I say an offroad series next summer? Let me know what you in Obra ville think because I see the potential for a cool race or series of races on those trails.
