Dang, all you Portland people do us bicker back and forth about stuff on the OBRA list.  Now we're complaining about TT categories?  Gees.  You want to go faster in TTs and be competitive in your category.  Here are a few helpful tips from the shucker.
1) Train.  Facts have shown, if you actaully train and not post on OBRA 20 times a day you'll be faster.
2) Buy a TT bike - Although, the state's best TT rider, uses a normal bike w/ a disk wheel and some arrow bars.
3) Buy a disc wheel - they sound cool and look cool  WOOHEE, WOOHEE, WOOHEEE
4) Move to China and train w/ their gymnasitics team.  You won't actually be as good as the US, but the judges will give you a better score and you'll win.
5) Send your $15 to Mr. Kytola, that sounds like a great idea. I hope he gives me a time of under 51:00.  Shake and Bake, what a great name for a TT.  Bravo Eric, Bravo
6) Train again.  This is the most imporant thing you can do, it will make you faster I promise.
7) Get an iPod - and wear it while you're warming up.  Then just leave in one ear bud for the last two minutes before your start.  It works for Micheal Phelps in swimming, it should work at your local TT.
8). No Sex.  Yep, no gettin busy for a week before a TT.  It makes the legs weak.  And No uhhhhhhh, hmmmm how shall I say this, no takin care of your self either, you need the extra strength.  No weak legs!
9). Shave.  Less hair, less wind resistence.  Plus you'll look all sexy like.
10) Have Rob English make you a crazy arrow custom TT bike.  You can buy a normal TT bike (see #2), but if you befriend Rob, you'll have a super low, super arrow, super cool TT bike.
11) Get a PowerTap/SRM.  Training w/ power is very important.  I know most of you can put out at least 400watts an hour typing on your keyboards.  You need to put that into a TT effort.
12) Train.  I know I've said it three times now, but it is super important!
13) Eat a tasty burrito before your ride.  If you're struggling a little, you can fart for an extra boost.  Plus those behind you will slow down due to the nasty smell.
14) Get lots of sleep - you need to be well rested for a TT
15) Last tip - Don't post on OBRA so dang much.  Ever wonder why there aren't many CAT 1/2s who post on here?  It's because they are out training.  Not complaining about the age of master's events, the masters categories, TT categories, letting the entire state know there is glass on the burnside bridge (yeah, those of us outside of Portland don't care!).
If you follow all these tips I promise everyone will go under 53:00 at the state TT next year.
