Renegade Crit Info

All,

As fair warning, I wanted to let you know that tomorrows Renegade Crit
in Eugene won't be running on regular crit rules. We will be doing a
"win and out" to determine the top 5 placings for each race. Here is
how things will work:

  • On 8 laps to go, the first rider across the line will be placed
    in 5th place.

  • On 6 laps to go, 4th place.

  • 4 laps to go, 3rd place

  • 2 laps to go, 2nd place

  • 0 laps to go, 1st place

When a rider "wins their place", they will have one lap to exit the
course. Their race day is done and spot secured.

On the last lap, the first rider across takes 1st place, and the second
(third, fourth, etc) rider doesn't earn a placing.

Plan your strategy well. If your a rider who never places in the top 5
(or top 10), sprinting for 5th, may be a great deal. And if you miss,
you can try for 4th (if you have the energy and the legs). If you
normally place in the top 10, sprinting for 5th, may not be that great
and you may want to try for better.

These are the rules as I have understood them from the promoter. If we
make any adjustments to this, they will be announced at the start line.
I will be very clear how things will work at the start line.

We will see you there tomorrow. This should be a fun, interesting way
to end our long crit season.

Thanks

Seth
