Just in case you didn't receive the email I sent out earlier today...

This coming Sunday we are going big for the third and final stage of the Kruger's Kermesse Farm Crit Series at Kruger's Farm on Sauvies Island. (http://www.portlandracing.com/kermesse)

Besides the regular races and the usual off-course entertainment, we'll host a special "ultra farm crit" team relay race and finish the day with our grand series raffle, featuring a ton of great prizes (see below). We hope to see you out there, either as a racer or as a spectator.

Here are some more details that might be of interest to you:

1) Course Update & weather forecast:
According to the latest forecast, the weather on Sunday will be mostly sunny, though not as hot as last Sunday. Our plan is to stick with the same course as last week and have racers go clockwise. Dry-course cyclocross tires are clearly the best all-round tire choice. Just make sure to run higher tire pressure than your typical cyclocross race, since there are some bumps and the speed is higher than in cross.

2) Pre-riding:
If you missed out on the first two races and like to pre-ride the course, your best bet is to come out early on Sunday morning to get a couple laps in. The course will be all set up by 9am.

3) Registration, Waivers:
Unless you have pre-registered for the whole series, you will have to register at the race. Registration opens at 9:00am and closes 15 minutes before each race. Please schedule enough time for registration, especially if you still have to purchase an OBRA license, which now sells at $10 for the rest of the season. Also a reminder that if you raced one of the previous two races, you don't need to fill out a waiver anymore. Just pay your race fee and you're good to go.

4) Bib Numbers:
We are using special series bib numbers, which you will receive at registration, so please leave your OBRA road bib at home. If you raced the first races, make sure to bring your Kermesse bib number with you. If you plan to race a different category than last time, you will get a new bib number, since every category has its own unique number series. And another friendly reminder to make sure that your bib number is pinned on your left side in a readable manner.

5) Results & Series Points:
The preliminary results of last Sunday's race are posted at:
http://app.obra.org/results/2008/Cyclocross/13072
I plan to post the points for the first two races and the series standings by Thursday evening. Basically, we'll use the same points system as the short track series (15 deep), though for this series all races will count towards the overall.

6) "Ultra Farm Crit" Team Relay. Yeah!
In good Portland Racing tradition, we will end the Kruger's Kermesse Farm Crit Series with a 40' team relay race on a compact course. We basically will cut out the loop in the far back, so you'll take a hard right turn at the pits and then loop back to the start/finish. Each team will be made up off at least 4 racers, including at least one woman. We have room for about 20 teams. To sign up your team, just reply to this email. Note: for insurance reasons, only racers who raced a regular race can participate in the team relay and no racing after drinking beer or other alcoholic beverages.

7) Live music, gourmet food, beer, wine and FREE Coffee!
Like last Sunday, we will have the all the off-course features lined up to make this a great day for racers and spectators alike. Salvador Molly's will be at hand with a variety of hot food and salads, Laurelwood beer, wine, and all morning, the Kruger's Farm Market store will be brewing free Nossa Familia coffee.

8) Awards and GRAND SERIES RAFFLE. Don't miss out on the frenzie!
After the team relay, we'll close the series with awards for the top-3 series podium finishers in each category, who will receive some real cool medals and a bunch of other goodies provided by our sponsors Cyclepath, Rapha and Kruger's Farm Market.

But you don't have to finish on the podium to ride home with some great prizes. In good tradition we'll finish the series with a grand raffle, featuring a ton of awesome prizes, including:
- a Salsa La Cruz cyclocross frameset generously donated by our title sponsor Cyclepath.
- a cyclocross wheelset and some sweet headsets (in the Belgian national colors!), courtesy of our perannual supporter Chris King.
- growlers of beer and some cool tees and hats provided by our beer sponsor Laurelwood Brewing.
- some very stylish bike jerseys and a set of arm warmers, provided by Rapha.
- a bunch of bike racing socks, generously donated by BioRacer, the official supplier of the Belgian national cycling team.

And then, for good form, we will throw in more random primes - provided by Clif Bar and Nossa Familia Coffee - throughout the races. Just keep an eye out for that ever-elusive Belgian flag!

Voila, that's about it. If you have any questions, check our web site or just shoot me an e-mail. I am looking forward to seeing you on Sunday at the farm. Bring your family, bring your friends. Let's have a party!

Cheers!
~Kris
