Due to a fire on Mt. Hood, the Hood River County Fairgrounds are being used as a fire camp for firefighters and their vehicles. We cannot use the fairgrounds for the race on Sunday or for camping. However, the school district has been kind enough to step up and allow us to use the high school again on Sunday. The course crew will adjust the course between Saturday and Sunday and we will still have two great days of racing. If you were planning on camping, please see the links below. The Tucker Park campground is the closest to town (just over one mile to the high school).
This change makes it all the more important that we all follow the rules at the high school. The athletic director will be present throughout the day on Saturday and he will cancel the Sunday race if he feels we are not being polite guests. Please remember:
NO ALCOHOL (sorry)
USE THE TRASH CANS
USE THE PORT-A-POTTIES
STAY OFF THE ATHLETIC FIELDS AND THE TRACK
It's going to be a great weekend for racing. The weather looks pretty mild for this weekend, not the 90+ temperatures we have had some years, and if we get a little rain, at least it will keep the dust down! We have prizes from DaKine, Resource Revival, 76 gas, Gorge Delights, GU, and others, along with the Easton EC90 drawing and the weekend champion trophies (17 of 'em!).
Sorry about the late shift in plans, but you can't control Mother Nature. I hope to see you all out here!
Jeff
