Strength Training for Endurance Athletes

There is still room in the class starting this week - spending time in the gym is probably the last thing on your mind with all this beautiful weather...but that doesn't mean that you should wait until then to be prepared!

Strength training can help re-balance the body after a season of bike riding, and provide some of the beneficial stress to the body that cycling lacks such as weight bearing (good for bone density, tendon and ligament strength) and lateral movement. And, for those that don't really like spending time in the gym, the routine is quick, fun, and can be done at home with minimal equipment. Perfect for busy schedules!

I am running a class at my clinic this fall and winter for endurance athletes interested in learning more about strength training. The class is a 3-part series, with each class teaching you a resistance training program to use for the next 6-8 weeks. Each class will consist of a short lecture, followed by demonstration and practice of the routine. Each participant will also receive a handout detailing the program for later reference. For additional details, please visit www.HPChiro.com - the first class starts next week!
