I have a pair of Tufo cyclocross tires for sale. I believe they are
700x30c C-Prestige model. They are red tread with a yellowish-tan
sidewall. They have never been flatted, and have sealant inside as a
preventative measure. Approx. 410 grams each.
They are the "tubular-clinchers", which is a tubular tire that mounts
on a clincher rim. No gluing involved. The tubular has a molded bead
that mounts solidly to the rim's bead hook. These tires are lighter
than a standard clincher+tube and allow you to run much lower
pressures in mud (providing better traction) and bump-softening
characteristics when it's dry (like Barlow yesterday). Not a good
choice for races like Barton Park, w/ excessively sharp gravel.
I have used them periodically in the past several years, but mainly
they have been mounted up as spares, getting very little use. One tire
is more worn than the other. The "good one" still shows little dots
from the mold on the center tread, so barely any wear. The more "worn"
tread is probably at 50-60% of it's remaining raceable "tread-life".
The tires have never been used on a trainer.
Random Fact: I have placed 4th in a Crusade race only two times in my
life, and each time I was using these tires!
Price: $75 for the pair.
I can have these available at Alpenrose this weekend. Thanks for reading.
