A bunch of people emailed me with questions so here are some more details:
 
Brush Cleaner / Reconditioner: I used Klean Strip Brush Cleaner. I picked it up my neighborhood Miller paint a few months ago for a painting project. This is fairly standard and toxic stuff, it looks and smells similar to other brands of brush cleaners I have used in the past. If you look at the MSDS you can see the chemicals that are in it… much more than  Try and use a ventilated room, I’m still a little dizzy!
 
The tires: Tufo Flexus.
 
The condition of the base tape after the glue removal: I checked if very carefully and there is no lifting more moving or any sign that the base tape was affected by the solvent. I looked carefully where the tape meets the sidewall and where the seam on the tape is. There is no evidence of degradation. Of course I will check again tonight and report my findings.
