Eric Chu
League Cycling Instructor Sami Fournier, is teaching "Road I: Commute
with Confidence," a course geared toward new and returning cyclists,
on October 14th and 16th, from 4-7 pm at the Environmental Center, 16
NW Kansas, in Bend. This course is recommended for adults and
children above age fourteen, and will be taught in two parts, 3
hours each day. Cost is $30.
It covers everything from basic handling and traffic skills, to
negotiating roundabouts, fixing flats and on-road maintenance,
shifting gears, as well as commuting tips and tricks. Anyone who
takes the course is guaranteed to learn something.
Participants need to bring their own bike and helmet, and will be
riding in parking lots and on the road. (And don't forget lights for
the ride back home)
The course is the prerequisite for becoming a League Cycling
Instructor -- the instructor course is tentatively scheduled for May
2009
If you, or someone you know, could benefit from this course, sign-up
in advance by calling Sami at 541-848-9549.
