River City Bicycles Cyclocross Crusade
Race #1 at Alpenrose Dairy This Weekend
Once again, the Cross Crusade has begun. As the director of the series, I
want to first invite everyone out and wish you luck. The Crusade is open to
all levels of participants and pretty much any kind of bike you can dream up
is legal to race on. Racing cross is as much about having a good time as it
is about competition. Chris King and his gang will again be serving free
Stumptown Coffee, there will be belgian waffles and bratz for sale. For
this year we are also pleased to announce that our newest sponsor, Bob's Red
Mill will be serving complimentary oatmeal each morning.
River City Bicycles and Chris King will have mechanics on hand to deal with
any bike problems you might have and Oregon Chiropractic College will be on
hand to deal with any body problems that come up.
I want to thank Carl Cadnaugh and all the folks at Alpenrose Dairy for
providing the venue for our kickoff event. They have agreed to close down
their operations for the day which enables us to use their back parking lot
as well as the main meadow lot. We have also made some minor course
alterations which allows us to park many more vehicles in the meadow lot as
well. Parking on Shattuck Rd. is illegal and those cars will get ticketed.
The course will be set up and open for pre ride by mid afternoon on
Saturday, so come out and take a spin. Registration will also be open on
Saturday from noon to 4:00pm.
Hope you come and have the time of your life.
