All you 50+ Masters racers should put this 'road trip' on your schedual for next year. For the best age group racing (general concensus amongst the competators) of the season, the Huntsman World Senior Games races are THE race.
Multiple national champions can be found racing in many of the 5-yr age groups, lots of europeans come over also. Excellent weather, still, in southern Utah and spectacular venues to race..The 40k TT is especially interesting, starting at Zion National Pk.'s west gate. The Uphill TT is also in a Red Rock canyon called Snow Canyon state park..
They have 3 skill levels/Divisions. I'll be racing Division 1, where last year I had two former US national masters jersey winners and the current Canadian champ in my 5yr field of about 25 riders..Good stuff and fun to compete against your own age group in a seperate field..
I've seen a few OBRA racers there in past years, but we could use more... Check it out below for next year. About 11 hrs driving time to St George from PDX, still racing in shorts there..
NW race organizers, I bet the Huntsman Cycling organizers would be glad to discuss how they pull off having all these age groups in one event.
