In these days of nearly impossible credit for start-up companies, I'm putting together a sort of incubator that will give 4-5 start-ups very low rent; flexible, short-term, easy leases; shared resources; and an environment where everyone around is involved in some way with the bike industry. I'm looking for tenants involved in the design, R&D, and/or import/export of bikes, bike accessories, bike apparel, bike safety devices, bike advocacy, or something no one else has thought of yet. It's called Stumpworks and is at 2019/2021 SE Belmont, currently kind of a dumpy-looking place on which rehab is about to start. The 2800 sf building has 4 offices and a large open space for shopwork, warehousing, showroom, and/or retail space. The project is organized as a nonprofit, and I'm seeking funds from PDC and elsewhere for improvements to the building and grounds. My own business will be housed there too. So far we have (tentatively) a highly regarded
accessory designer who recently moved here as well as a designer and builder of custom bikes who also just moved here. Email me or call 503 309-6631 for more information.
