You are so right. After I clicked send, I thought of the girls but hoped people would make the connection. Real words on screen are much better however. Thank you Carrie. GO YOU GIRLS.

Since we're talking about jr's, I also want to throw out there how amazing the junior girls are. There aren't as many of them as the boys, but I was really happy to see there was a handful out there giving it their all. I can't tell you how much it warms my heart to see a freaking nine year old racing bikes!! Also, props to the older girls who put in 3-4 laps on a really hard course. I was also really impressed with the girls knowing where they were on course and holding a solid line when getting passed by the faster classes.

And if you are the parents of these tenacious young ladies, thank you for getting your girls into racing and supporting them!

This seems to come up each year. If you let the junior riders know you are passing they always give plenty of space. Yesterday I heard one senior rider shouting in frustration when a jr. started swerving into his line. But as I observed it, the passing riding did not give enough lead time letting the jr. know he was passing. Last week at Alpenrose, my son changed his line and got run down by senior rider because the rider did not tell him he was coming up on him to pass. You have to let them know and let them know early (and kindly). I know we are verging on delirium toward the end and it is hard to breath much less talk, but we need to try.

It is awesome having the juniors out there and the numbers are growing each week, which is even better. This has become my sons “sport,” no soccer, no basketball, this is it. So let’s continue to make it fun for him and the others and give all the juniors cheers, let know we are passing, and give them room when we pass.

I agree. Everyone in that Junior race wore the Yellow Jersey yesterday! I also did not hear any negatives coming from any of the "grown-ups" as they passed or were passed by juniors.

You guys were awesome. That was a tough course - probably the hardest thing many of you have ever done on a two wheels- and you took it like champs. I hope you realize the kind of support you have both in the crowd and fellow racers. And to the grown-ups riding with them: you guys were a class act, giving encouragement on the way by and even helping one tired young rider up that final incline after he'd recovered from a nasty digger at the bottom of the hill. Made me proud to be part of the OBRA cross scene.
