How about a Handicapped Clydesdale race based on weight. Release the field in waves at 15 or 30 second intervals for every 5 pounds over 200 lbs? the 200-205 lbs class goes last and the 225 and over go first with as much as a 2 minute head start on the barely Clydesdale lads like me, who are hovering right on the 200 lb limit? Further, in order to start in the heavier groups you must have Brad or Rick certify your weight at check-in on some appropriately conceived Crusade scale? (See Brian Witty teeter totter scale from years past). No certified weight means you start at the back in the last group! Could serve to level the field more and appropriately harass the Clydesdale sandbaggers, like me (although I have not raced Clydes this year.....yet!).

Perhaps these gentlemen are too shy to give out their weights?
How about giving out a comparative classification like in boxing?
Flyweights, bantams, middleweights, heavyweights, supers, and the 'unlimited' class for those who ride specially reinforced bikes and leave craters on the runups :)
