Perfect. Except that it doesn't come in Campy to Shimano. I could swap out
the pulley for mine, but $40 seems a little steep for just the housing.
The cable pull and routing are different on the Shadow XT derailleurs, so
the hubub trick won't work since it depends on the anchor screw sweeping
across the cassette to change the cable modulation.

Solution is to make a very short stub to mount in the derailleur as a
standoff, then mount the Jtek as usual. I'll take many photos tonight as I
do it and blog the whole thing for posterity.

Thanks for all the assistance out there!

For that setup, you don't need anything to make it work!

http://www.hubbub.com/ergoleverswshim9.htm

Make sure you fudge the anchor cable as described. It will work with 8
speed, too, using the anchor cable as it was designed.

doesn't jtek make an inline ?   which it sounds like, is sort of what you are planning.

Campy 10s shifters, Shimano 9s cassette (11-32) and Shimano Deore XT Shadow rear derailleur (RD-M772).  Issue is mechanical interference where the cable enters since it's now off the top of the derailleur and not be back.  I'm wondering if a short section of housing to get the Jtek above the derailleur body would do the trick.

With campy 9 speed you have to use the Jtek shiftmate.  I have this set up.  See my blog and check some of my posts over the past month or so.  It works great, but it was indeed finicky to set up at first.  Old 9spd Veloce 9 speed (bought NOS) and 2008 XTR with an 11/32 cassette.  I am running 1x9.
