I rcvd a traffic ticket for disobeying a traffic control device for $242.00 from a Gresham City Police Officer last August on my bike towing my 7 yr old autistic son on Pizzano club property across from Linnemann station near powell valley loop rd (just east of 182nd and Powell) near springwater trail. There were no signs as I crossed trail riding thru piazzano club driveway and I was not on trail property when approached by 2 gresham police officers who immediately asked for ID, they were rude and would not listen to me. I explained about the signs not there and how I was going to go on a cleared detour just wes tand across trail fro where I was stopped. The officer continued to lie to me, I do not know why he did not just tell me to turn around and go back to powell , give me a warning or mention the "share the road program"for first time offenders - they dismiss ticket and you go to a 2 hr bike class. I took pics and notes and plead not guilty. My court date is on Monday. Has anyone been in this scenerio and what was outcome?..I think this is BS just a revenue cow for City of Gresham ...any thoughts?
