Bicycle Transportation Alliance in Willamette Week's Give Guide

Hello all,

As you plan your year end charitable giving, I hope you'll consider the
BTA as a recipient this year. As some of you know, I'm entering my 2nd
year as a member of the Board of the BTA. We would be very grateful for
your contribution to continue our work as your advocate for cycling in
Oregon, as well as for the array of bike safety education programs we
conduct.

If you give now via the Willamette Week's Give Guide, TeamEstrogen.com
AND your caffeine-junkie friends at Nossa Familia Coffee will give the
BTA matching funds up to $3,000.

Please read the information below for more information.

Thanks so much!

Susan

Now is the perfect time to make a special year-end gift to the Bicycle
Transportation Alliance! Because if you give now--through Willamette
Week's Give!Guide
http://giveguide.oaktree.com/ --you'll
get great stuff back. Like Trimet bus tickets, coffee, beer, wine,
Voodoo Doughnuts, lottery tickets, and more.

But wait! There's more: Willamette Week will throw in a matching grant
of $200 to $1,000 if the BTA is among the top 4 non-profits to raise the
most money or receive the most gifts from donors under 35 through the
Give!Guide .

Plus, our good friends at TeamEstrogen .com have offered to match every
$1,000 raised with $500 (up to $2, 000). And our good friends at Nossa
Familia Coffee have offered to match dollar for dollar (up to $1,000)
every gift that comes from new BTA donors.

Here are some examples of what your gift will help do:

* $25 allows us to provide helmets to five 4th graders in our Bike
Safety Education classes.
* $100 allows us to present one "Share the Road" Safety Class.
* $250 allows us to replace two bikes in our bike safety education
fleet.
* $1,000 allows us to teach 30 kids bike safety education.
* $2,500 allows us to build support for Bike Boulevards in five
neighborhoods.
* $5,000 helps us advocate for a stronger vehicular homicide law.

Bicycling is the solution to many modern-day problems. Every person who
commutes by bike gets one more car off the road, reduces air and water
pollution, decreases our dependence on foreign oil, and strengthens our
communities. And with obesity and diabetes rates on the rise, it's never
been more important to work to make bicycling safer and easier for
everyone.

Don't forget to tell your friends about this special opportunity!
Every donation we receive makes it more
likely that the BTA will win a matching grant. Tell your friends about
the BTA's important work and that their contribution will be used to
make bicycling easier, safer, and more accessible for people of all ages
and abilities.

Thank you!

What is Willamette Week's Give!Guide?
It's a publication, accompanied by a website, whose primary goal is to
facilitate year-end giving to a cross-section of Portland-area
non-profit organizations. WW's Give!Guide is inserted in all 90,000
copies of Willamette Week, and functions much like a catalog. Donors
can select one, two or multiple organizations and make a donation online
in a single, easy transaction. Additional copies of the printed guide
are made available to participating nonprofits for distribution to
friends and potential donors.

What are the Give!Guide's goals?
They're threefold:

* to provide publicity and exposure to a variety of local
non-profits;
* to attract new donors and/or volunteers to these causes; and
* to encourage people age 18-35 to get involved in philanthropy.
