For those that were interested in which way this was going to go: The winner
is: Comcast!

I called them up and told them that I received a great offer from Verizon to
switch and what could they do. They rep was very nice and she was able to
reduce or waive everything on my bill so that it came in under the Verizon
offer. I did drop my Sports TV package (yes Sal, I still have Comcast sports
so I can watch Velo TV- the only good cycling program on the tube now a days
anyway..) and my internet was reduced for 1 year. My tv package was reduced
for 6 months and I will have to call in after that.

For those that are on their internet service, check to see if you have the
Speed boost package on your bill. If you are under 12mb currently, wait
another 3 months or so when the upgrades to the network are complete and
they will be offering the basic speed at 12mb for free. That means I am
currently paying (or was until she waived the fee) $15 per month for a
slower speed. Thus, I will cancel my speed boost package when the upgrade is
complete.

So for anyone thinking about making a switch, call Comcast first and let
them know you would like to see what they are offering and ask for the
retention department when you do.
