SPOKANE BIKE BOULEVARD - Come to Green Drinks meeting at the Muddy
Rudder in Sellwood on Wednesday Nov 19th at 6:00 pm.

PDOT and Bureau of Environmental Services has come together to focus on
Spokane Street! Sam Adams has a goal of 40 miles of bike boulevards
within the first 90 days as mayor. Spokane is (hopefully) going to be
in the running for this distinction. The projects are part of his Green
Streets initiative. They will help mitigate traffic, beautify the area
and assist in managing storm water run off. This may all be
accomplished if BIOSWALES are integrated within the plan.

The focus is Spokane between 17th and 11th avenue as a result of the cut
through traffic and the proximity of the kiddos at the Sellwood
Community Center and St. Agathas Elementary School. Another location in
the discussion is 7th and Spokane due to the high volume on 7th AND
Spokane. This project will also provide a key link in the Springwater
Corridor. We need folks to provide feedback AND SUPPORT for this
project.

Due to the short timeline of potential voting in December for approval
and spring construction dates, a special (BONUS!) Green Drinks meeting
has been scheduled on November 19th (at the Muddy Rudder 6 pm - On
Tacoma at 6th) Emily Gardner from the Bicycle Transportation Alliance
was kind enough to volunteer her time to answer questions and provide us
insight and plan appropriately.

We'd love to see folks,
