I'll remember that when I watch Curling in 2010.

I agree Brian. The IOC is more about what sells than what is the true
meaning of the Olympics. I do have to admit that my main exposure to the
Olympics was commercial television so I may not have all the facts.
Cyclocross needs to be fringe, even more rebel.

Honestly I'd rather that cyclocross NOT be included in the Olympics.

Unfortunately the Olympics has just become a ghost of what it used to
stand for. The corruption, cronyism, and rampant doping (dopers
suck!), lying, cheating, politics, and consumerism have really
spoiled the Olympics for me. The cycling events, in particular, are
not even interesting when it's even possible to view any coverage.

The 2008 MTB "cross country" race was on a completely artificial
course. Fake ruts, bumps, artificial inclusions. There was nothing
"cross country" about it-- they should have just shortened the track
and called it short-track and it would have been a lot more fun!

What would a cyclocross race look like? Indoors on astroturf and
ground up tires for "sand pits"?

I'd rather that cyclocross's reputation not be sullied by any
association with the IOC. The UCI is bad enough.

That's just my .02. I'll shut up now and get back to work.
