Not a `76 Schwinn? Where's the sense of adventure? ;-)
Last year I rode a pretty fast one day and had a heck of a time staying ahead of a group of merry riders making the voyage on very old classic single speed/coaster brake/balloon tired/heavy steel bikes with handlebar baskets full of novelties. What a hoot!
STI is nice, but not sure the triple is necessary. STP is pretty darn flat.
