So Fergus, are you worried that the flashing LED would burn a hole in
the back of your skull or something?

No need to shout. I can still hear you below 14 point.

I'm sorry you have had such a dangerous time on the road. I've had some
close calls as well. The road is hazardous!

I would rather see a cyclist lit up like a christmas tree than have a
flashing LED reflecting off the back of my scull like a pulsar.

Have a great day and stay safe,

Fergus

Being will illuminated on a bicycle at night is paramount to
cyclist safety. I'm amazed at the perception that high visibility is
somehow a negative. With all the hazards we face as cyclists, it only
makes sense to do what we can to mitigate those hazards.
Do oncoming headlights on vehicles degrade driving?
When riding at night I have two of the brightest red flashers I
could find on the back, just in case one burns out the other will
continue to work. I have a small white flasher on the handlebars and a
Light and Motion HID on my helmet which allows me to see the road and
avoid the many hazards that are in the bike lanes. I've had to use it
numerous times to get people's attention as they were preparing to pull
out in front of me from side streets or driveways. I also get regular
comments from driver's telling me that they appreciate being able to see
me, especially when its raining.
