Back to Best Headlights

Now that we're back on the topic of the original question I'll chime in...

I recently bought a 400L from Dinotte and am very happy with the light
output. This specific light is intended as a helmet mount so the bar mount
isn't ideal (no quick release) but I'd buy it again based on performance for
price (it was on sale when I bought it).

I have a friend who did RAAM a year and a half ago and Dinotte provided him
with lights and batteries. I narrowed my search of lights to the Dinotte
brand for that reason and mentioned it when I made the purchase. Perhaps
because of the mention or perhaps because of the great customer service I
keep hearing about they included optional lenses with my purchase (to change
beam angle).
This same friend had a taillight from Dinotte and I was VERY impressed with
the brightness. I now get all dorky for nighttime training rides and ride
with two taillights, and a safety vest with an additional reflective LED
band hanging from it. If I had the Dinotte taillight I'd get rid of much of
that, and if my headlight ever went out I could put the taillight on the
front.

Back to the original question of whcich headlight.
I am a BIG fan of the Dinotte lights and the company.
They have the choice of Li-ion or AA. Li-ion last longer AA are cheaper and easily replaced and upgraded. I have both systems and am very happy with both. Thay have a broad choic of lights, 200, 400 , 600 and 800 lumen. In the city even on roads with no street lights I find 2 200 lumen lights are more than adequate. Most of the time I have 1 on steady and one on Flash. They also have an amber light, great for fog or daytime. The 200 lumen lights are very small and pop on and off in 2 seconds. They have very bright rear lights. The superflash is 1 watt these are 3 watt and 140 lumen and there is a double rear ligh available. They use the AA or the Li=ion also. I've been told people think I'm an emergency vehicle with 1 of each rear light flashing. The company is AMAZING! They have had inexpensive upgrade offers, free repairs, upgraded my Li-ion chrgers and batteries for free and sent an email in September recommendign that owners send in their lights for free maint
