Running in the snow: Doesn't take 1/2 hour to dress for! Feet: I couldn't imagine riding in a light mesh-top shoe, but my feet have been fine running yesterday & today...just the normal running shoe, medium-weight wool sock.

I have the Innova 700x35 studded tires on my cross bike, and they work great in the ice and snow. They're over 800 grams, so you're not going anywhere in a big hurry, but when it's this cold, who wants to? Last time I rode them, I didn't realize how slick it was till I got off my bike and slipped on the ice in my mt. bike shoes. Biggest hazard now is the motorist who loses control and slides into you.
