Ron and Dorothy Strasser
A reminder with regard to access to rocky point trails. IF THE GATE IS OPEN or they have a NO ENTRY sign posted, DO NOT GO INTO THE AREA. This means they are working in there and DO NOT WANT THE PUBLIC TO ENTER. As of this morning the first gate on left is open and no entry sign is up. Let us do our part to make their work easier and more safe by staying out until they are finished. We appreciate being able to ride on their lands.
This is the area where I led the group yesterday. Please tell any downhill riders that you know that they should not be going into that area, even from the gate above.
One note with regard to the ride yesterday. First it was fun and after the first lap, we got some more intense riding in which was a blast. Second. When I arrived about 9:30 AM one group of "Search Dog Trainers" was just inside the gate and getting ready to do a day of training. They were (as usual) great to talk to and were appreciative of our work in there. It helps them do some of their training. Several of us met up with some of them one other time in early afternoon. The fact they use their vehicles to drive back in to do the training made me realize first hand how our work removing blow/snow down from the road helped them do their volunteer work which is so important. This is a great example of how we can help not just Longview (labor hours removing blowdown from roads), but others.
Ride the north side until they are finished.
