Hillsboro Police & Fire Dept handles a bike crash perfectly

I crashed right in front of a fire station once, happens to be the one where I'm director!  After regaining consciousness I joked with the firefighters that I was just testing their emergency preparedness!  They chuckled.  The car's driver who ran the stop sign and hit me wasn't chuckling so much after the lawyer put pressure on her insurance company to pay the $25K+ in medical bills........ and bike damage.......and lost wages.

Keep the shiny side up!

On behalf of Team Oregon we would like to thank the Hillsboro Fire Dept and Police Dept for their professionalism in handling a crash we had on our training ride last Saturday. We were heading northbound on SE Brookwood Ave when a truck heading southbound on Brookwood made a left turn right in front of us onto Drake Rd causing 3 riders to go down. The truck proceeded to leave the scene but a motorist that witnessed the crash chased him down and called in the license plate number to 911. There happens to be a fire station right at this intersection and some of the fireman also witnessed the crash and were helping out our riders before we even had a chance to get off the road. The police were able to find the motorist and brought him back to the fire station where they exchanged information and gave the driver a reckless driving citation. It was very refreshing to see the system work so smoothly and in our opinion hold the responsible parties accountable
for their actions. So t
hanks again to all that helped our riders from both the fire department and police department. If you are ever going to crash do it in front of a fire station!
