There might be a better method, but...
I remove it in my utility sink with dawn liquid detergent. I soak it a few
minutes and then work it off with my hands or a rag. It can be tough, but
if remounting as tubeless, I believe important. Unless there are areas
where it has collected enough to keep the bead of tire from hooking into
your rim, I would not worry too much if using tubes... but I am not a
trained bicycle mechanic. Someone else with input would give members more
pro info.
