Saturn's Rahsaan Bahati, Major Motion Cycling, and Josh Weir to Take Part in Legends of Cycling Evening, February 15, 2002
(OBRA (www.obra.org <http://www.obra.org/>) - February 10, 2002) Rahsaan Bahati, newest member of Saturn Racing, will be part of the festivities at the Friday Evening Legends of Cycling on February 15, at the Tiger Woods Conference Center at Nike World Headquarters. Bahati, who rode for Mercury last year, first captured the attention of American cycling when he won both the junior and senior elite criterium national championships in 2000. Lightning fast, Bahati went on to win the junior national road championship later in the year. Bahati is currently enrolled at Indiana University where he is majoring in computer animation and telecommunications. Bahati will ride for Saturn in 2002. Bahati, the youngest rider on the team, brings the Saturn men's roster to 13. Bahati began his cycling career with Major Motion Cycling Club.
The coaches of Major Motion Cycling Club will also be part of the Friday evening events. The club was formed in 1975 in South Central Los Angeles, where it is still based. The club is named for the first American to win the World Professional Cycling Championships, Marshall 'Major" Taylor.
Also attending will be Josh Weir, an up and coming track sprinter from Indiana who beat Marty Nothstein this past summer in the matched sprints at the Alpenrose Velodrome Challenge.
