UPDATE On the Stolen Moots

Dennis Veatch

What number did you call to contact the police? I saw a guy on a friends
stolen bike a few years ago, pulled my car right in front of him after
calling 911 (wrong number I know) and telling them. The guy almost ran into
my car and I hoped out and tried pulling the bike from him. Started to
come to blows and realized I'd get arrested instead of him. Wreckless
endangerment with a vehicle, menacing, physical endangerment, and assault to
name a few. So I backed off, tailed him while on the phone, and 911 yelled
at me and I lost the guy down an alley.

So, if I see your bike, what number do I call, and what side shot photos can
I print out to verify so I don't beat someone up over their own bike.

One of the owners of Cyclepath saw the guy on my bike around Broadway and Lovejoy. He then tailed the guy but lost him somewhere around NW 24th and Northrup. Police scoured the area but came up empty handed. Owner is 100% certain it was my bike- he should know he built it.

I also have some information to suggest he frequents certain bars in that area. Please keep your eyes peeled and contact the police.

Great Question-

Aside from most of the parts being custom a few stand out:

1. White Gore Cables on the Cross bike
2. RACE CYCLOCROSS STICKER on the chainstay of CX bike

3. Blue Grips on XC Bike
4. Kent Eriksen Seatpost- Blue and Ti on XC bike
5. Moots Stickers slapped on the chainstays.

Thanks for asking and to everyone who is feeding me info.

Patrick, any particular distinguishing features we should be looking for? On the bike, I mean, not the thief. Wheels and saddles are easy to swap out, but if it has something unusual on it like rasta Paul brakes or one of Josh's patented mix-and-match King headsets or something, that makes it easier.
