Mt. Hood Cycling Classic
Hello NW Racers
A couple of quick reminders to everyone who is planning to attend the 2009 Mt. Hood Cycling Classic. First lodging in Hood River during the race will be unavailable unless you book early this year. In the past Cooper Spur has sold out by March and the Hood River Inn by April. In 2008 many teams and riders who waited to long to make reservations ended up having to stay in The Dalles. Not that there is anything wrong with The Dalles as it is a hip happening place but it is a 20 minute commute into Hood River from there. So book now to assure your spot. We will be posting results and information nightly at both Cooper Spur Mountain Resort and Hood River Inn. If you are deciding between the two lodging partners, Cooper Spur has a cool rustic mountain lodge feel while Hood River Inn has nice clean rooms and is conveneiently located. If you are looking at accommodations for an entire team booking cabins and condos at Cooper Spur is by far the cheapest lodging option in the entire region. Crazy cheap if you can fill a cabin. Best Western Hood River Inn is the most centralized and conveniently located lodging establishment for the race. Super fast access to each and every stage with the prologue, stage 2 TT and stage 4 crit all finishing two miles or less from the hotel (plus those are two miles are down hill). Located right on the Columbia River it is great establishment with a wonderful restaurant to boot. It will also host packet pickup on Wednesday for the race. For more info or to make reservations go to our lodging page on the race site at www.mthoodcyclingclassic.com for more details. Be sure and tell them you are part of the race in order to get room availability.
Finally most of you know the Mt. Hood Cycling Classic to be one of the toughest races in the country. Whether your goal is to crack the top 10 or to simply finish the most brutal race in the U.S. hiring a coach will help you meet these goals and more. Wenzel Coaching is a proud supporter of the 2009 Mt. Hood Cycling Classic and can work with you one on one to achieve your potential and survive the race. Sign up for the race before April 1st and Wenzel Coaching will waive your setup fee for coaching.
We look forward to another great year and seeing all of you at the starting line!
Sincerely,
Chad
