While we are on the topic of post-lobotomy drivers of massive vehicles:
Friday around 4.30 pm a school bus, # 920167, aggressively tailed me down Skyline as I proceeded south towards Cornelius Pass. I had REALLY taken the lane, as I was easily keeping up with the speed limit (35), and I'm confident that had I not, this bozo would have attempted a pass (over the double-yellow, on curves), despite the danger-and despite the fact that we were only a 10th of a mile from the bottom of the hill.
As it was, rolling up to the stop at C.P., the bus' mirror almost took off my head, although there was plenty of room in the road at this point.
Thinking "what an a-hole", I got the bus' number and waited for my wife.
A couple of minutes later my wife rolls up shaking and in tears, asking me if I had gotten the bus #, because he HAD passed her and had nearly run her off the road--she was far enough behind that she had not seen him tail and brush me.
Of course, my call to the police was not returned, perhaps because nobody died?
Driving like this is not coincidence, nor accidental, and no amount of education is going to make people like this drive responsibly, imho-tough for me to believe this happened because the guy didn't know any better-in theory he is a professional driver!
Watch out for this guy. He's got a chip on his shoulder, driving something that makes an SUV / pickup truck look like a toy. And-BONUS!!-setting a stellar example for probably 30-40 of tomorrow's drivers on a daily basis.
I haven't figured out how to address this situation; if anyone has ideas, please share...
