Brad
I thought that you guys picked your dates and then everyone else takes the
left overs? I continue to support that plan. I just think that the states
should go to another promoter.

I also waant to give other promoters a swing at it, but like Jeff elluded
to, I was worried about the date. My concern was that someone was going to
take one of the Crusade dates.

I didn't know that the Districts was being put out to bid until last month.
At that time, I didn't submit a bid because I thought it'd be good for
somebody else to do it for a change. I am just concerned about loosing one
of the Crusades prime weekends.

I agree that the weekend before Thanksgiving is good. That's when it
traditionally has been. Kris is doing a race on that day this year, so if
the Crusade gets it, we'll do it the week before that.

This is a little off the current topic, but I want to propose that we (for
future years) reserve a date for Cross Championship. Because of the way the
season is structured, it is very difficult to slot in another race. I
wanted to apply this year, but in my mind, the best date for the
Championship is the Sunday before the Thanksgiving weekend. For 2009,
Kruger's Crossing has the date. I don't want to step on anyone else's
existing race, it doesn't make any sense for me to bid to host the
Championship at my existing race in September, and we can't really go any
later (after Thanksgiving) because of the USGP and Nationals. I propose
that we reserve the Sunday before Thanksgiving to be OBRA Cross
Championships, and promoters (in the future) bid to host the race on that
date.

As for this year, not seeing the bids, I'd just give it to Brad (I assume
he's asking for November 15th) or Kruger's (assuming they bid). That's not
the best way to make a decision. (Sorry about my tone - I'm a little
annoyed about this one. I wish we had looked at the bid process before the
call went out to host the 2009 and 2010 races.)

Why can't the options be presented to the board and the entire board give
input?
