Looking for some info on 2005+ model year Subaru Outbacks using a hitch rack (although if you feel like sharing on other makes and models, please do, but please identify vehicle year/make/model as well as hitch setup (see below) for clarity):
"Standard" hitches for these Outbacks are 1.25". I have read, however, that the hitch-style bike racks with receivers of this size eventually start to sag, while ones with 2" receivers apparently do not.
Has anyone any experience with:
a) Mounting a 1.25" hitch with a 1.25"--> 2" coupler, then attaching a bike rack with a 2" receiver, or
b) Mounting a 1.25" hitch and a bike rack with a 1.25" receiver (whether sag or no sag; useful info either way)
Any sharing of your experience with either of these setups is most welcome.
Thanks,
Brady
