WHAT:
Monday night summer bike racing for women (any age) and masters men (30+) on
a flat, closed, car-free circuit. Fast, fun action with separate categories
for beginner to advanced cyclists. New racers are welcome and
encouraged?just show up with a helmet and road bike ready to race.
Experienced racers are on hand to answer questions and provide tips.

START TIMES AND CATEGORIES:
6:15pm Novice Masters Men (aged 30+)
6:20pm Novice Women (any age)
6:35pm Open Women (Category 1/2/3/4, any age)
6:43pm Masters Men 30+ (Category 1/2/3)
6:45pm Masters Men 30+ (Category 4/5)

COURSE/DISTANCES:
The course is a flat and wide 1.9-mile loop with excellent quality pavement.
The circuit is closed to all car traffic. Distance varies each week
depending on daylight, field size and weather, but will average 10-15 miles
(novice), 20-30 miles (open women), 30-55 miles (masters 1/2/3, 3/4). Exact
distance is announced at registration.

REGISTRATION:
Registration opens at 5pm, located at start/finish area in the middle of the
track, opposite the main grandstand. An Oregon Bicycle Racing Association
(OBRA) (http://www.obra.org/) license is required to race and is available
at registration for $5 (single-day) or $20 (annual).

PRIZES:
Points are accumulated weekly in each category. Prizes and gift certificates
for top points winners at the end of each month. Prizes awarded nightly too!
Prizes are from River City Bicycles.

SEASON POINTS COMPETITION:
For the 2009 season, we are introducing a season long points competition for
racers in all categories. This is for 1st place in each of the 5 categories
(masters 30+ 1/2/3s, Masters 30+ 4/5s, Women, Novice Women, and Novice Men).
Final winners and points will be tabulated and announced after last race of
the season in August.

The winner will get a fantastic, locally designed jacket from Showers Pass
(www.showerspass.com). The racer will get their choice of size of the
ProTech jacket.

RULES:
Approved helmets Required. All OBRA Racing Rules Apply. No Aero Bars
allowed!
Please Note: OBRA and the organizers of this race do not provide insurance
coverage for injuries that occur at the race. The costs related to those
injuries are the responsibility of the individual participant.

CLINICS:
INTRODUCTION TO BICYCLE RACING CLINICS:
Never tried bicycle racing and always wanted to see what it was all about?
Want to learn about the basics, and more? Meet other racers, coaches and
racing teams? Then this clinic is just for you!

The clinic will include basics of what bike racing is about led by Russell
Cree of Upper Echelon Fitness (Men's - 1st Monday), and Kendra Wenzel of
Wenzel Coaching (Women's - 2nd Monday)

DATES:
Men's Clinic:
1st Mondays of each month (Dates: May 4, June 1, July 6, and Aug 3).

Women's Clinic:
2nd Mondays of each month (Dates: May 11, June 8, July 13, and Aug 10).

TIME:
The event will be held prior to the Women's or Men's Novice race starting at
5:45 - then race at 6:15 (Men) or 6:20 (women), and then a re-group when
finished with race for a debriefing on the 2nd Mondays of of each month. All
clinics are free.
