The Community Cycling Centers Basic Maintenance Class is a fun,
affordable, hands-on class. No experience is required; just your bike
and some elbow grease! By the end of the class you will have the
confidence and skills to perform regular monthly maintenance on your
bike to keep it running well. Topics covered include flat tire repair,
cleaning, lubrication, gear and brake adjustments and general
troubleshooting. Our instructors are friendly and knowledgeable and
bring years of bicycling experience to the course. With a 6:1 student

Hows your shifting?
The Community Cycling Center's Intermediate Maintenance Class will
give you the essential skills to keep your bike shifting and riding
smoothly. By the end of the class youll have gained the confidence
and skills to perform six-month and annual maintenance repairs on your
bike to keep it running well. Lessons include replacement of the
chain, gear cluster and derailleur cables, basic wheel truing, and
brake adjustments. Our instructors are friendly and knowledgeable
about bikes, so youll receive individualized attention and learn tips
that will save you time and money.

you how to overhaul hubs, bottom brackets, and headsets. The class
also covers advanced wheel truing and spoke replacement. Participants
will work on their own bikes in class and have access to the
professional tool sets of our shop. With a 4:1 student to instructor
ratio, you will receive individualized attention and tailored advice
for your specific bicycling needs. Prior completion of the
intermediate course is strongly recommended.
