Ron and Dorothy Strasser
WRT = Wilson River Trail
Even though I have never ridden these trails I know many do enjoy the ride.
I think a VERY STRONG SHOW OF VOLUNTEERS from both PUMP and OBRA / mountain
bike riders would be a great thing for off road riding in NW Oregon. My
only request would be to schedule the work day or days on weekends when
there are no other bike related events scheduled. If I have a race on a
Sunday, I will not really want to work on Saturday for example. Not saying
I would never do that, but make the volunteering as well timed as possible.
If any of you have ridden out on these trails and had a great time, I would
ask that you please give a little of your time to help if we are asked for
volunteers. Your time is the most important thing you can give. I say to
all of us riders (racers and recreational); it is not up to others to keep
the trails open and maintained for us... we need to help at least in some
manner.
Kind of preachy, but I believe society does not owe us trails. We have to
earn them. Nobody is a martyr. Lets all just help have places to ride. If
you are offended by my comments, email me and save the lists your reply
unless of course your reply is not only educational, but entertaining!
Thanks for reading.
