Women Cyclists focus group clarifications and a correction

2009-03-27

Greetings again,

First, a correction - the groups will take place on Wednesday and Thursday
(April 1st and 2nd) rather than Tuesday and Wednesday. Now to answer some of
the questions I have received:

Compensation - this will be in the form of a $40 gift certificate for bike
stuff.

Location - the groups will be held at a site in SW Portland - should be easy
for most to get to and it is very bike friendly.

Participation - if you participate, it will just be on one of the days, not
both.

Selection - not everyone will be selected. The groups are small and our goal
is to talk to a broad spectrum of cyclist types.

The last point makes a good segue to my request for your help in getting
this out to the greater cycling community. If you have a
friend/neighbor/sister/wife/whoever else, who rides a bike even just a bit
(you know, "regular" cyclists), please send this to them as soon as you can.
We really want to hear from them.

Thanks - see you all at Piece of Cake!

Subject: Women Cyclists wanted for a focus group

Dear OBRAland,

I'm running two small focus groups in the evening on Tuesday and Wednesday
of next week and we are looking for women to participate (sorry guys!). We
are looking for all kinds of cyclists, not just the racer types, so feel
free to forward this note to anyone else who might be interested (maybe your
significant other?). Those who participate will receive a nice incentive for
their time (approx 90 minutes tops).

For interested parties, here is what to do:

Send an e-mail to martinb@mcbakerresearch.com and answer the following quick
and easy questions:

What is your name?

What is your phone number?

Where do you live (city and neighborhood)?

How would you describe yourself as a cyclist (racer, commuter, casual, etc)?

Have you been the primary purchaser of a bike from a bike shop in the past
three years?

Have you been the primary purchaser of bicycle service from a bike shop in
the past three years?

Have you been the primary purchaser of parts and accessories from a bike
shop in the past three years?

Have you been the primary purchaser of cycling apparel from a bike shop in
the past three years?

Thanks!
