After hearing about the possible (and now unfortunately confirmed)

cancellation of the 2002 Tour of Willamette a few days ago, I decided

to put on the 1st annual Eugene Cycling Weekend, which will take place on

April 13th and 14th.

The Eugene Cycling Weekend will be a 2 day, 3 event weekend

featuring the following courses:

4-13: A.M. Cottage Grove Lake Road Race, which features an 8 mile

semi-flat(2 rollers), fast course on excellent pavement. The course is

perfect for both sprinters and those riders who like to try their luck in

solo/group breaks.

4-13: P.M. Cottage Grove Lake TT, which uses the same course as the

road race, and all riders will complete one lap for the Time Trial.

4-14: Elmira Road Race, which is a 10 mile course featuring 2

climbs, one being less than a kilometer, the other being 2-3

kilometers. This course is perfect mix of climbing and flats, and has good

to moderate pavement.

As we are in the process of getting the road permits and all necessary

paperwork filled out please keep notice of any updates, which will be

sent out via E-mail! Within the next 2 weeks, I will send out an

E-mail flyer with course directions, categories, distances and registration

information! PLEASE TELL ALL OF YOUR RACING/RIDING FRIENDS!!

         Thank You,

                  David Johnson
